Meet the Team
Meet the passionate volunteers and organizers behind Astoria Housing for All.
Caitlin Seyfried
Organizer
Caitlin is a farmer and local food systems consultant. She is a renter in Astoria and has experience with how difficult and costly it is to find housing here. She believes that our society should treat access to housing as a human right, not a privilege for some or an investment for the wealthy.
Dan Hubner
Organizer/Treasurer
Dan is a state worker with a background in ecology. He moved to Astoria in 2023 when his partner got a job at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Like many Oregonians he dreamed of living on the coast for a long time before it became practical, and has been stunned to see how rapidly Astoria's housing costs have shot toward inaccessibility for the working people, independent artists, and others who are its cultural motor. He believes locally-controlled solutions are more important than ever in this era of unprecedented chaos in programs and funding sources at the federal level.
Teresa Barnes
Organizer
Teresa is a teacher who has advocated for housing as a volunteer, shelter worker, activist and neighbor. She moved to Astoria in 2002 because she found an affordable home here and stayed because of the strong and vibrant community. She has seen how these two go hand in hand: secure housing not only gives people the opportunity to build equity, it allows them the stability and freedom to give back through the arts, volunteering, and civic engagement. She believes housing is a human right, and that the communities that invest in themselves are the kind of places where we all want to live.
Emily Barber
Organizer
Emily has worked in the service industry in Astoria for 5 years. She is a baker, farmer, and maker. She has faced housing insecurity ever since moving here, and knows firsthand how difficult it is to access shelter in Clatsop County. Her goal is to humanize the issue of homelessness and help create housing opportunities for all our neighbors.
Andy Kipp
Organizer
Andy is an engineer and housing advocate who has lived in Astoria with his wife since 2019. He co-founded the Astoria Housing Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the housing crisis through education, outreach, and policy advocacy. After watching friends and neighbors struggle to find affordable housing and seeing longtime residents forced to leave, Andy became committed to finding community-driven solutions that keep Astoria a place where working families can thrive.
